When the impact of climate change becomes unavoidable, we must learn to adapt. CASD’s approach to adaptation shall involve structural, physical, social, and institutional approaches. mangrove planting and other habitat conservation; seawalls to protect against storm surge worsened by sea level rise; selective breeding for drought-resistant crops.
Mangroves and other tree planting: Mangroves are essential for tropical countries like Liberia, but they can provide the same security in any place they grow. They are trees with dense, interwoven root systems that grow along warmer coastal regions in slow-moving water.
